Do you know how that magic moment happens when you do the click and then a memory is saved and remembered for a long time? Did you know that all cameras are not like the ones from phones? Cameras also have evolved, cameras can be like the ones from the picture above or very little like the ones from cell phones. In this essay you will know the secrets from cameras.
How cameras work
Cameras started being very big and needed a lot of maintenance. Those cameras needed a chemical reaction to create a picture, and another that chemical reaction in a dark room to reveal the picture; so when the camara man pushed the button light passed through a little hole into a dark space where the chemical reaction happens. The light is taken and a film captures the image. The film is then revealed and the image is passed into a paper. And that's the way pictures where taken a long time a go. The cameras changed over time, and the dark space got smaller and the film and dark rooms disappeared because the chemical reaction was replaced by an electric reaction with sensors that detected light, and that's the way phones and iPads take pictures today. The more sensors, the more pixels, and with more pixels the definition of the pictures is better. That is why cameras are described in terms of megapixels.
Conclusion
For me, doing the challenge meant at first that taking pictures needs little effort. However when I started doing the research I realized that a lot of technology is required to capture an image. When I understood that a few years ago I needed film, a dark room and chemical reactions to do this challenge, l had to admit that the people who invented the camera was a genius. For me, knowing that there are several ways to take pictures using chemical or electric reactions makes technology like magic. For our advantage, it is awesome that we can now concentrate in the content and the art of taking pictures to tell a story, instead of worrying on the costs and the need for films and dark rooms. Also we can see the results immediately, instead of waiting several days for the revealing procedure. Besides, we can have many photos on one thing or a memorable moment. I think technology is the best!!
